The 2026 edition of The Players Championship tees off on Thursday, March 12 in Ponde Vedra Beach, Florida. It’s the third stop on the PGA Tour’s annual Florida Swing.
Contested at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course, the Players field features 46 of the top-50 ranked players in the world, including two-time winners Scottie Scheffler (world No. 1) and Rory McIlroy (No. 2), who will each headline a featured group: Scheffler will join Justin Thomas and Tommy Fleetwood, while McIlroy will tee off with Xander Schauffele and Hideki Matsuyama.
In another featured group, Akshay Bhatia — fresh off a playoff win at Bay Hill, will tee it up with Tony Finau and five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, while 2015 PLAYERS winner Rickie Fowler will be paired with three-time major winner Jordan Spieth and Sahith Theegala in a third marquee trio.
Two-time major winner Collin Morikawa will play with 2017 Players’ winner Si Woo Kim and Ludvig Aberg, while Justin Rose will be joined by Chris Gotterup and Min Woo Lee.
With 144 players in the field, tee times for the opening two rounds will be in two waves (morning and afternoon) and from both sets of tees.
