Anthony Kim, the 40-year-old comeback king of LIV Golf, is turning heads off the course as much as on it during this week’s LIV Golf Hong Kong event.

Fresh off his emotional, come-from-behind victory at LIV Golf Adelaide just two weeks ago — his first win after a 12-plus year absence from pro golf amid personal battles with addiction and mental health — Kim announced a heartfelt initiative via social media.

Alongside his wife, Emily Stanley, Kim pledged to donate one-percent of his prize money from every LIV Golf event to a mental health charity in the host city. The commitment kicked off with this week’s Hong Kong stop, where he’s currently competing (sitting T24 after an opening-round 3-under 67).

In his post, Kim wrote: “My wife & I have been thinkin of how we give back 4 all the blessings we have received so starting this week @livgolf_league HONG KONG we will donate 1% of my prize money 2 supportin a mental health charity in that city so pls let us know which 1s R great organizations. … 1% BETTER.”

The move ties perfectly into Kim’s signature “1% better” mantra, which he’s used to document his recovery, sobriety (now in its third year), and relentless grind back to elite form with 4Aces GC. Having openly shared his struggles as a recovering addict, this gesture underscores his commitment to giving back and raising awareness for mental health—issues he’s faced head-on.

Fans and media quickly praised the announcement as a meaningful step beyond the fairways, especially amid his inspiring resurgence.
