MIAMI, Fla. — Cameron Young refused to let his foot off the gas Saturday, carding a 2-under 70 in the third round to stretch his lead to six shots at the 2026 Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral.

The 28-year-old American reached 15-under par for the tournament (64-67-70) after navigating the Blue Monster course through challenging conditions. He made four birdies to offset a pair of bogeys, including an early stumble, but responded solidly to maintain control heading into Sunday’s final round.

“I putted really well again today,” Young said afterward. “The short game has been carrying me.”

The Wake Forest product has been lights-out with the flat stick, making what he jokingly earlier called a “billion feet of putts” over the first two days.

A trio of players sit six shots back at 9 under, including world No.1 Scottie Scheffler (69) along with Si Woo Kim (69), and Kristoffer Reitan (69).

Others like Ben Griffin (68), Nick Taylor (72) and Matt McCarty (69) lurk even further back at 8 under and would seem to be jockeying for the second-place check and points.

This marks the return of a PGA Tour event to Trump National Doral’s Blue Monster for the first time in a decade, with the $20 million Signature Event drawing a strong field to the iconic Miami-area layout known for its challenging water hazards, bunkering, and palm-lined fairways.

Young, a former PGA Tour Rookie of the Year and Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup participant, has been one of the game’s most consistent performers. A victory Sunday would further solidify his status among the elite, especially after multiple close calls in majors and big events earlier in his career.

Weather could play a factor in the final round, with forecasts calling for possible rain and thunderstorms, forcing adjusted tee times. But with a comfortable cushion, Young will look to manage the Blue Monster’s demanding layout and close out what has been a dominant week so far.

Pursuers like Scheffler, and others will need low scores and some mistakes from the leader to mount a comeback on Sunday. For now, all eyes are on Cameron Young as he stands on the verge of another signature win.
