Congaree Golf Club will be the host venue for the PGA Tour’s new event which will fill the open spot on the 2021 schedule following the last-minute cancellation of the RBC Canadian Open.

According to Golf Digest’s Brian Wacker, “The tour informed players on Tuesday that it will stage a new tournament at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, S.C. An official announcement on the name and sponsor of the tournament is expected in the coming days.”

The Tom Fazio-designed golf course is located in Ridgeland, South Carolina – approximately 30 minutes north of Savannah, Georgia. Upon its debut in 2017, Conagree was quickly voted the “Best New Private Course” in 2018 by Golf Digest.

The unnamed tournament will be the Tour’s third stop in as many months in the Palmetto State for the 2021 season, joining the long-running RBC Heritage on Hilton Head, which will be contested in early April following the Masters. The following month, May 20-23, the PGA of America’s PGA Championship will be played at Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course (South Carolina).

The new stop at Congaree Golf Club will be held June 7-13, the originally scheduled date of the RBC Canadian Open .
