The LIV Golf League 2026 features 13 teams comprised of four players, along with five wild card players. In total, 57 players will compete this week, with players and teams competing simultaneously for both points and prize money.

The tournaments consists of 72-hole stroke play, no cut and shotgun start, ensuring a faster and more exciting pace of play for fans.

Captains: Each team has a captain while members of the four-player teams, including the captain, participate in the four-day tournament.

Individual Winner: Like the PGA Tour, the player with the lowest 72-hole stroke play total is the tournament winner. The event’s champion receives $4m in prize money along with 200 LIV rankings points (from 40) and about 23 OWGR points. Jon Rahm enters Korea holding about a 250-point lead on Bryson DeChambeau, with 802.33 points.

Team Competition: All four scores count in each round for every team, an adjustment that began in the 2025 season. As with the individual competition, the team with the lowest total score wins the event’s team title. An adjustment for 2026: all 13 teams will earn prize money each week based on their finishing position (1st-$3m, 13th-$200k) rather than only the top 3 teams. In addition, in 2026, the league introduced a $2.3m prize to be allocated to the players on the team podiums (top 3) each week. For example, the winning team earns $3m which goes in as team revenue for building and managing the team (salaries, marketing, etc). Additionally, the winning team splits another $1m ($250k each or however the captain sees fit) among the four players.

  • Global Tour: LIV Golf continues its worldwide schedule with a visit to Busan, Korea – the eighth different country to host a LIV Golf tournament in the first eight tournaments of the 2026 season.
  • Second Stop in Korea: The visit is the second to Korea in league history, with the inaugural LIV Golf Korea held during the 2025 season at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon outside Seoul.
  • Asiad Country Club: Host venue for this week’s LIV Golf Korea, becomes the 32nd different course to host a LIV Golf League tournament.
  • 4th Stop in Asia in 2026: The tournament is the fourth this season to be held in Asia, following stops in Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
  • Off Impressive PGA Form: Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm enters Korea off his tie for second at the PGA Championship, in which four of the 11 LIV Golf players in the field finished inside the top 20.
  • Jon Rahm Leads: Rahm is the current season-long points leader as he chases his third consecutive LIV Golf Individual Championship.
  • Bryson DeChambeau Defends: Crushers GC Captain Bryson DeChambeau, currently second to Rahm in points, is the defending LIV Golf Korea champion, having won last year in Incheon.

  • Red-Hot 4 Aces: 4Aces GC, captained by Dustin Johnson, has won three of the last five tournaments, including the last two in Asia (Hong Kong and Singapore) as well as the most recent one in Virginia when the club beat Fireballs GC in a playoff to move atop the team standings.

The beauty of LIV Golf is — unlike the PGA Tour where ten of the world’s top 11 players won’t even be in the field — you know each and every star will be teeing it up in Korea. For fans shelling out big money for tickets, this is a huge plus mark for the upstart league.

The field is headlined by two of the top-4 betting favorites in next month’s U.S. Open: Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau, who have combined to win four of the last five LIV Golf tournaments, with Rahm taking Hong Kong and Mexico City and DeChambeau going back-to-back in Singapore and South Africa.

Cameron Smith, the 2022 Open Champion, broke out of his major slump in a big way, contending right up until the final few holes at the PGA Championship.

Other LIV golfers entering in good form include contenders like Thomas Detry (4 top-6s in last 5 LIV starts), David Puig (4 top-20s in last 4, incl T18 PGA), Josele Ballester (5 straight top-12s, incl 3 straight top-5s), Branden Grace 2 top-5s in last 3), Dean Burmester (7 straight top-20s incl 5 top-10s), Matthew Wolff (4 top-15s in last 6), and Joaquin Niemann (5 straight top-20s, incl 2 top-10s).

LIV Golf Korea Course

Asiad Country Club in Busan, South Korea will host the 2026 LIV Golf Korea event. (LIV Golf)

Originally built by Arnold Palmer’s group, for the 2002 Asian Games, Asiad Country Club underwent a major redesign in 2019 led by renowned architect Rees Jones, elevating it to professional tournament standards.

The club hosted the BMW LPGA Championship for three seasons and was the first LPGA-certified golf course outside the U.S.

Three 9-hole courses are on the property – Valley, Lake and Pine; LIV Golf Korea will use the Valley course for the first 9 holes and the Lake course for the second 9 holes.

The Valley course is narrow and tree-lined, providing a target golf approach; the Lake course is more open and expected to be more scoreable.

The signature hole is the 159-yard par-3 6th hole that plays downhill to an island green.

The double-dogleg ninth hole is a par 5 for members but will play as a 501-yard par 4 for LIV Golf Korea.

The two-tiered fairway 11th hole also is a par 5 for members but will play as a 486-yard par 4.

The 601-yard par-5 15th is the longest hole on the scorecard and has a green surrounded by water on three sides.
