Norton, Mass – After a week up north, the ladies tour heads back to the states for the third edition of the FM Championship. The LPGA event will be contested at TPC Boston, the former host of the PGA Tour’s annual Labor Day weekend tournament.
The Baystate stop will feature a field of 144 players vying for a share of one of the biggest (non-major) purses on the tour in 2026: $4.4 million.
Miranda Wang will look to defend her 2025 title against headliners Nelly Korda, Jeeno Thitikul and Charley Hull, among others.
The FM Championship is the 23rd event of the current LPGA season, and the final tournament before next month’s highly anticipated Solheim Cup.

FM Championship History
The FM Championship is one of the newest events on the LPGA Tour, but its arrival also marked the return of women’s professional golf to a market with a long LPGA history.
The Boston area hosted an annual LPGA Tour event from 1980 through 1997, played under several sponsor titled names, but best remembered as the Boston Five Classic, contested at Ferncroft on the North Shore (1980-90), and the PING Welch’s Championship, played at Blue Hill in Canton (1991-97).
After the tournament disappeared from the schedule, the region went nearly three decades without a regular LPGA Tour stop.
That drought finally ended in 2024 with the inaugural FM Championship at TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts, bringing an annual LPGA event back to the area for the first time in 27 years. It also marked the first LPGA Tour event contested at TPC Boston, a venue long associated with the PGA Tour.
The FM Championship immediately became one of the LPGA’s richest non-major events, debuting with a $3.8 million purse in 2024 before increasing to $4.1 million in 2025. Title sponsor FM entered into a five-year agreement with plans to continue increasing the purse during the partnership.
South Korea’s Haeran Ryu won the inaugural championship in 2024, defeating Jin Young Ko in a playoff at 15-under. Miranda Wang followed in 2025, earning her first LPGA Tour victory with a 20-under total and a one-shot win over Jeeno Thitikul.
The 2026 FM Championship, Aug. 27-30, marks the third edition of the tournament and continues the LPGA’s renewed presence in the Boston market.
The course has a considerable professional-golf history, having previously hosted PGA Tour events won by stars like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Bryson DeChambeau, among others.
Established in 2002, TPC Boston was originally designed by Arnold Palmer and redesigned in 2007 by Gil Hanse in collaboration with PGA Tour player Brad Faxon.

The 2026 FM Championship field includes 13 of the 14 winners on the LPGA Tour in 2026, headlined by four-time winner Nelly Korda and three time winner Jeeno Thitikul.
The two headlining superstars will be joined by two-time 2026 winners Hannah Green, Hyo Joo Kim, Miyu Yamashita and Haeran Ryu.
