Belek, Turkey — Sweden’s Mikael Lindberg held his nerve in wet and windy conditions to secure a breakthrough victory at the 2026 Turkish Airlines Open, firing a final-round 69 to finish at 10-under par (278) and win by two strokes.

The 33-year-old, playing in his 70th start on the DP World Tour, pulled away from playing partner Daniel Rodrigues of Portugal and Italy’s Guido Migliozzi, who tied for second. Scotland’s Ewen Ferguson finished in a share of fourth.

Lindberg’s win at National Golf Club in Belek, Antalya, marked several milestones: the first Swedish victory in the event’s history, his first DP World Tour title, and the top spot in the Asian Swing standings. That bonus qualification earns him a debut at the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in two weeks’ time.

“This is a dream come true. I’ve been dreaming about this for so many years,” Lindberg said after the win.

The victory also propelled him up the Race to Dubai standings, from 35th to seventh, and came with a first-place payout of approximately €399,000 (roughly $467,500).

Lindberg, who followed up a strong third-place finish at the recent Volvo China Open, showcased steady play across a challenging final day, closing with key pars and birdies to fend off challengers in the rain.

The result caps a strong Asian Swing for the Swede and injects fresh momentum into the DP World Tour season as attention turns to the major championship circuit.
