The iconic Stan Smith sneaker is being upgraded this year, and to celebrate the tune-up of this classic silhouette – which has transcended sport and style, Adidas is introducing a limited-edition Stan Smith Golf version “to give golfers a versatile and more sustainable option to sport their style on the course.”

The spikeless Stan Smith Golf shoe features uppers made with “high-performance recycled materials,” or what Adidas calls PRIMEGREEN.

The distinct green color of its new golf shoe is apparently a nod to its efforts related to sustainability and a “journey to end plastic waste.” But the color also happens to be associated with a certain major golf tournament in April, which is when Adidas is launching its new golf kicks, headlined by 2020 Masters’ winner Dustin Johnson as the pitchman.

In addition to its environmental benefits, the Stan Smith Golf version includes the following technology and features:

  • Adiwear Rubber Spikeless Outsole with traction inspired by the shoe’s original sole design: The small lugs will give golfers traction when they need it, but the versatility to wear the shoe anywhere.
  • Die-cut PU Sockliner and additional PU cushioning in the midsole provide golf-specific support in every step.
  • Removable White Kiltie that houses a gold-colored ball marker with its Trefoil logo gives the well-known model some distinctive characteristics to push on-course style even further.
  • Packaged in the traditional Originals Blue Shoe Box, it will also contain a Commemorative Dust Bag to help keep the shoes looking fresh, round after round.

The footwear will be available on adidas.com, through the Adidas app, and in select retail stores worldwide beginning today, Wednesday, April 7.
