Bryson DeChambeau captured his first LIV Golf individual title of the 2026 season in thrilling fashion, outlasting Canadian wildcard Richard T. Lee in a sudden-death playoff at the Aramco LIV Golf Singapore event on Sunday at Sentosa Golf Club.
DeChambeau, captain of Crushers GC, finished regulation play tied at 14-under-par 274 after posting rounds of 67-65-72-66. His final-round 5-under 66 featured a crucial birdie on the par-5 18th to force the extra session. Lee, making history as a wildcard contender, also closed with a 66, highlighted by four birdies in his last six holes.
In the playoff on the par-5 18th, drama unfolded immediately. DeChambeau’s tee shot found the water, leaving him to scramble for par. He managed an up-and-down to save it, then watched as Lee, after reaching the green in regulation, missed a short 2-foot par putt that would have extended the playoff or even won it outright for the wildcard.
The miss handed DeChambeau the win, his fourth career LIV Golf individual title and his first 72-hole victory since claiming the 2024 U.S. Open. The triumph earned him $4 million from the event’s purse.
“It was a bit of a shock for sure,” DeChambeau said afterward. “I was just hoping to save par and keep going. This was huge for me… but it wasn’t the way I wanted it to end. Richard gave everything out there, and the league should be really proud to have him as a wildcard.”
Lee, gracious in defeat, pocketed over $2 million for his runner-up finish—the best result ever by a LIV wildcard—and reflected on the near-miss.
“Hopefully next week I can try again,” he said.
England’s Lee Westwood finished third at 12-under, securing $1.5 million in his strongest LIV showing to date. Joaquin Niemann (-11) and Jon Rahm (-10) rounded out the top-5 finishers.
The 4Aces GC, led by Dustin Johnson, claimed the team title for the second straight week with an 11-under final round, topping the standings at 27-under overall.
DeChambeau’s comeback performance, overcoming a challenging third round and the playoff adversity, positions him strongly heading into the upcoming Masters.
