Michael Thompson shot a final-round 67 to claim a two-stroke victory over Adam Long (64) at the 3M Open.

Thompson finished his final day at TPC Twin Cities with a single bogey against five birdies, highlighted by a pair of closing gains on Nos. 16 and 18.

The win was the second of Thompson’s PGA Tour career, but first since the 2013 Honda Classic – some seven-plus years ago.

Along with the nice-looking 3M trophy, the 35-year old Arizona native earned $1,188,000 and 500 FedExCup points. He also secured 38 first-place OWGR points to crack the top-100 (No. 99) for the first time since the 2014 season.

Long, meanwhile, earned $719,400 and 300 FedExCup points for his solo second-place finish. The Duke product secured 22.8 OWGR points to move into the top-100 for the first time in his career. The 32-year old Louisiana native jumped from 110th to No. 72 with the two-place showing.
