SOTOGRANDE, Spain — Tyrrell Hatton held off a late charge from teammate Jon Rahm to win LIV Golf Andalucia on Sunday, claiming his second individual title in the league in his first start since becoming a father.
Hatton, playing for Legion XIII, closed with a 1-under 70 on the demanding Real Club Valderrama course for a two-shot victory at 11-under 273. He posted rounds of 67-69-67-70 over the four-day, 72-hole event.
Rahm, captaining Legion XIII, fired a 4-under 67 in the final round but came up two shots short at 9 under. Abraham Ancer (68) finished third at 8 under.
The 33-year-old Englishman led wire-to-wire after sharing the first-round lead with Scott Vincent. He mixed four birdies and three bogeys in a gritty final round, making two late birdies (Nos. 16 and 17) to secure the win and the $4 million first-place prize.
“It’s surreal,” Hatton said afterward, joking that he would trade the trophy for help with newborn diaper duty at home.
“To be honest, I thought no matter how today went, I’m still going to be home tonight, and I’ll walk in to a crying newborn, and I’ll be doing nappies tonight,” said Hatton. “That was going to happen regardless.
“I’m really excited to get home to Emily and our little girl.”
Hatton joined LIV Golf in 2024 and won for the first time in Nashville that season. His victory Sunday marked his second LIV individual title in three years on the breakaway tour.
Legion XIII also swept the team title, with Hatton and Rahm headlining the squad’s performance at the former Ryder Cup host venue.
