McKINNEY, Texas — In a dazzling display of putting and precision on Sunday at TPC Craig Ranch, Wyndham Clark surged from a tie for second to win The CJ Cup Byron Nelson with a blistering final-round 11-under 60, finishing at a tournament-record 30-under 254.
Clark, the 2023 U.S. Open champion, birdied four of his final five holes and posted a back-nine 28 to pull away from the field. He won by three strokes over Si Woo Kim and five over world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, claiming his fourth PGA Tour title and his first victory since the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am — which he also sealed with a closing 60.
Starting the day tied with Scheffler at 19-under, two shots behind local favorite Si Woo Kim, Clark turned in a front-nine 32 before igniting on the inward nine. A 15-foot eagle putt on the par-5 12th vaulted him into the lead. He followed with a spectacular 45-foot birdie on the 15th and kept the pressure on with precise approaches, including one to inside 3 feet on the 18th that he tapped in for birdie.
The round nearly became historic in another way: Clark’s approach on the final hole nearly holed out for eagle, which would have given him a 59 — only the 16th sub-60 round in PGA Tour history. Instead, he settled for a birdie that capped an unforgettable day.
Clark’s putter was the story of the week. He led the field in Strokes Gained: Putting, sinking 13 putts longer than 10 feet across the tournament and an astonishing 158 feet of putts in the final round alone. His hot streak on the greens reversed a form slump that had left him searching for answers earlier in the season.
“I knew I had to make birdies,” Clark said afterward. “The course was playing soft, and I just got on a roll with the putter. It feels incredible to be back in the winner’s circle.”
Si Woo Kim, who held the 54-hole lead, carded a solid final round but couldn’t match Clark’s closing charge. Scheffler, the defending champion and local hero playing in front of Dallas-area fans, finished third despite a strong effort.
The victory marks a significant rebound for Clark, who has now joined an elite group as the first player to win twice on Tour with a final-round 60. His total of 30-under shattered previous benchmarks at the event, which benefited from rain-softened conditions and a recently renovated TPC Craig Ranch.
With the win, Clark earns $1.854 million and boosts his position in the FedEx Cup standings, positioning himself strongly for the upcoming major championship season.
