In a dramatic finish, England’s Charley Hull capitalized on world No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul‘s shocking four-putt meltdown on the 72nd hole to win the 2025 Kroger Queen City Championship at TPC River’s Bend. The 29-year-old Hull closed with a 4-under 68 to finish at a tournament-record 20-under 268, earning her third LPGA Tour victory and her first since 2022’s Volunteers of America Classic – ending a 1,077-day drought.
Trailing by one shot entering the par-5 18th, Hull watched in disbelief as Thitikul, who led after three rounds, botched a 5-foot birdie attempt and a 3-foot comebacker, eventually tapping in for bogey. Hull calmly converted a 2-foot birdie putt for the win.
“I just thought I had to make eagle to be fair,” Hull said afterward, still processing the surreal turn of events. The victory extends the LPGA Tour’s streak of different winners to 15 events this season and nets Hull a cool $300,000 from the $2 million purse.
Thitikul, seeking her third win of the year, settled for second at 19-under after the uncharacteristic collapse. “It was a tough one,” she admitted, shaking her head.
Hull, who had been battling injuries including a back issue and an ankle ligament tear earlier in the summer, marked her return to form following a runner-up at the AIG Women’s Open last month.
“I’m just happy to get back in the winner’s circle,” she added, trophy in hand.
