ATLANTA, GA – Tommy Fleetwood has surged into a share of the lead at the 2025 TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club, posting blistering rounds of 64 and 63 to reach 13-under par at the halfway point. The Englishman was tied with Georgia native Russell Henley, who opened with a stunning 9-under 61 and chased with a 66, setting the stage for a thrilling weekend in the PGA Tour’s 2025 finale.
Fleetwood, still in search of his maiden PGA Tour victory, showcased his precision and consistency, carding just two bogeys across the first two rounds. His 63 on Friday included a six-pack of birdies on the back nine, capitalizing on the soft conditions at East Lake.
Henley continued his hot putting on Friday, one-putting six of his last seven holes in the opening round and adding five birdies in the second to stay neck-and-neck with Fleetwood.
Cameron Young was alone in third after a low-round 62, featuring nine birdies, highlighted by five gains in a six-hole span (Nos. 11-16), to reach 11 under.
One further back was the duo of Robert MacIntyre and Patrick Cantlay, who posted matching 64s and were deadlocked at 10 under.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler lurks five shots back at 8-under following rounds of 63 and 69, while Shane Lowry (63), Chris Gotterup (63), Sam Burns (66), Rory McIlroy (67), Ben Griffin (67), Akshay Bhatia (67), and Justin Thomas (69) were tied at 7 under.
With the FedEx Cup title and a $40 million purse on the line, the leaderboard promises a fierce battle over the final 36 holes.
