LIV Golf, the upstart pro golf league – known for its vibrant, fan-focused events, will make its Louisiana debut at New Orleans City Park’s Bayou Oaks South Course, June 26-28, 2026.

The announcement, made on August 27, 2025, at a press conference featuring Governor Jeff Landry, LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil, and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, marks the league’s first major event in the state and its 10th confirmed stop on a 14-event global schedule for 2026.

The tournament, dubbed LIV Golf Louisiana, is expected to inject $40 million into the local economy and support over 1,150 jobs, with Louisiana investing $7.2 million, including $5 million in fees to LIV and $2.2 million for course upgrades led by golf legend Greg Norman.

The revamped South Course will feature lengthened holes, refined bunkers, and enhanced spectator areas to blend elite competition with New Orleans’ festive spirit, promising a “Jazz Fest with golf clubs” atmosphere.

Governor Landry highlighted the event’s timing on the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, calling it a testament to the city’s resilience.

“What an unbelievable opportunity to announce this on the 20th-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina,” Gov. Jeff Landry said at the announcement.

Watson, a Gulf Coast native, expressed excitement about playing in front of a hometown crowd, unfazed by the June heat and hurricane season.

“This is the first year of it, so the date can always be changed if it does come here multiple years,” Watson said. “It’s going to be hot in a lot of places in the summer… I’ve grown up in the South; I know about heat. We just prepare for it.”

Three-day grounds passes and Club 54 hospitality tickets are already on sale, with more details on entertainment to follow.

LIV Golf’s 2026 schedule also includes stops in Riyadh, Adelaide, Mexico City, Andalucia, United Kingdom, Singapore, and South Africa, reinforcing its global expansion. The New Orleans event, slotted one week after the US Open at Shinnecock Hills in New York, positions the city as a key player in the league’s bold vision to redefine professional golf.
