European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald has selected Alex Noren as his fifth and final vice-captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, New York, from September 26-28.
Noren, an 11-time DP World Tour winner, including the 2025 British Masters two weeks ago at The Belfry, joins vice captains Thomas Bjorn, Jose Maria Olazabal and brothers Francesco and Edoardo Molinari, for the biennial clash against the United States.
Noren earned two points from three matches in Europe’s 2018 Ryder Cup win at Le Golf National near Paris. His standout moment came in Sunday singles, where he sank a dramatic 40-foot putt on the 18th to defeat Bryson DeChambeau.
Donald praised Noren’s calm demeanor and strategic insight, noting, “Alex’s experience on tough courses and in high-pressure situations will be vital at Bethpage. He’s a respected voice in the team room.”

The 43-year-old Swedish star expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “It’s an honor to support Luke and Team Europe in our quest to retain the Cup.”
With the full vice-captain lineup now set, Donald’s focus shifts to guiding his 12-man squad, announced yesterday, against a strong U.S. team led by captain Keegan Bradley. Europe aims to secure their first away Ryder Cup win since 2012.
