South African Thriston Lawrence overcame a shaky start to claim the 2025 Omega European Masters title, securing a two-stroke victory at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club on Sunday.

Finishing at 22-under-par, Lawrence’s final-round 66 marked his fifth DP World Tour title and his second at this prestigious alpine event.

Despite opening the final round with three consecutive bogeys, the 28-year-old rebounded spectacularly, igniting his charge with an eagle on the par-4 6th and adding five birdies on the next eight holes (Nos. 7, 9, 10, 12, and 14) to reach 4 under.

Lawrence’s composure under pressure outshone a strong chasing pack, with Matt Wallace (67), Rasmus Højgaard (62), and Sami Välimäki (65) tying for second at 20-under.

Matt Fitzpatrick (67), eyeing a Ryder Cup captain’s pick, finished alone in fifth at 19-under.

“It’s not easy. I was so nervous all day,” an emotional Lawrence said post-round. “I’m so proud of the way I fought out there.”

His victory, worth €473,432.83 from the $3.25 million purse, moves him inside the top 20 in the Race to Dubai standings (No. 19) and cements his legacy as a two-time winner on one of golf’s toughest stages.

The tournament, marred by fog delays, tested players’ resilience, but Lawrence’s mastery of the demanding Crans-sur-Sierre layout proved decisive. With this win, he moved to No. 68 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
