The U.S. Ryder Cup squad has seemingly embraced “Bradley & The Boys” as its unofficial war cry for the 2025 showdown at Bethpage Black, channeling bro culture vibes in a bold X post from the official Ryder Cup USA account.

The phrase, posted alongside a graphic declaring “Bradley & The Boys Are Ready for Bethpage Black” evokes the popular slang “the boys,” a term popularized among Gen X and millennial “bro” types for a tight-knit group of male friends often associated with partying, sports, and camaraderie — think Barstool Sports’ iconic mantra “Saturdays are for the Boys,” which celebrates weekend escapades and brotherhood.

This slogan comes with a layer of irony, harking back to the 2023 Ryder Cup controversy where captain Bradley was snubbed for the Rome team despite a strong season, amid whispers of a “boys club” favoritism favoring insiders like Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth. Bradley, who felt like an outsider then, now leads as captain and has included Thomas as one of his “boys.”

In a selfless move, Bradley opted not to select himself as a player — despite his No. 11 world ranking and hunger to compete — prioritizing his captaincy role to avoid distractions in the home-soil bid to reclaim the cup after Europe’s dominant 2023 win.

Bradley’s six captain’s picks (Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, Sam Burns, Cameron Young, and Ben Griffin) will join auto-qualifiers Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau, Russell Henley, Harris English, and J.J. Spaun.

The team blends veterans with rising talent, but fan reactions on X are mixed, with some lamenting Bradley’s non-selection and questioning picks like Morikawa, who has struggled in 2025. As preparations ramp up, including a potential tune-up at the Procore Championship, the “Bradley & The Boys” ethos positions the U.S. as a unified front, ready to harness home-crowd energy against Luke Donald’s European side from September 26-28.
