It’s PGA Championship week – the last major of the 2018 golf season, and for many of us, it’s the last big golf event that we’ll wager on, before we change our gambling habits to football.
As a major, the field teeing it up this week at Bellerive Country Club – just outside of St. Louis, is naturally loaded with all the big names, including each of the top-50 ranked golfers in the world.
With so many stars, there is no clear favorite, although Dustin Johnson is the only player with a betting line in the single digits, as the world No.1 is offered at 9-1.
Two time PGA winner Rory McIlroy was next at 12-1, with defending PGA champion, and newly minted WGC-Bridgestone winner, Justin Thomas, at 14-1.
Jordan Spieth, who can complete the career grand slam with a win this week, was 20-1, as were Brooks Koepka and 2015 PGA champ Jason Day.
Justin Rose and Rickie Fowler were offered at 22-1, with Jon Rahm at 25-1. Three-time PGA winner Tiger Woods was next at 28-1, alongside Tommy Fleetwood. No other players had a payoff under 30.
Ian Poulter is this week’s payoff pick. Despite falling off the cliff yesterday at Firestone, the Englishman is in the midst of a strong season and enters off two solid starts (T12 Canada, T10 Firestone). Poulter is listed at 100-1.
