In Sunday’s championship match, Scottie Scheffler closed out Kevin Kisner, 4 & 3, to claim victory at the WGC-Dell Match Play Championship.
After defeating Dustin Johnson in a semifinal match, Scheffler went up early on the veteran Kisner, and never looked back.
The victory was the former Texas Longhorn’s third career PGA Tour title – all coming in the last two months.
Along with the Walter Hagen Cup, Scheffler earned $2,100,000 and 550 FedExCup points. He also secured 74 first-place OWGR points to move to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
For his runner-up position, Kisner earned $1,320,000 and 315 FedExCup points. He also picked up 44.4 OWGR points to crack the top 30 (No. 27).
