The 2022 WM Phoenix Open tees off on Thursday morning at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium track. It will be the 85th edition of the famously raucous Arizona event.

The tournament headliners are world No. 1 Jon Rahm, defending champion Brooks Koepka, two-time Phoenix winner Hideki Matsuyama, and superstars Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, among many others.

Note: Each week, we make our picks based on the odds offered by DraftKings Sportsbook. The picks we make MUST offer payouts of at least +200. (We are looking for the best return.)

3 Bets To Win

Outright Winner
Brooks Koepka: 2022 WM Phoenix Open Power Rankings

Brooks Koepka (+3500) – Of Koepka’s eight career PGA Tour wins, only four are not majors. Two of those non-major victories were claimed at TPC Scottsdale, with the most recent coming just last year, as he exploded down the stretch, playing his last six holes in 5-under par to capture a second Phoenix title… While it can’t be argued that the four-time major winner has been awful since posting a T6 at The Open Championship, last June, keep in mind that he won the Phoenix Open last year off a string of three missed cuts… In short: Brooks can never be counted out, anywhere he is confident. At +3500, this wager doesn’t lack confidence either.

Three other outright picks we like: Justin Thomas (+1200), Hideki Matsuyama (+1600), Viktor Hovland (+1600)

Top-5 Finish
Xander Schauffele: 2022 WM Phoenix Open Power Rankings

Xander Schauffele (+400) – The world No. 8 would seem like a solid pick as the winner this week, given that he was the 54-hole co-leader in this event a year ago before finishing T2. But he’s arriving at TPC Scottsdale straight from Saudi Arabia where he finished T18 at an Asian Tour event. So while we’re holding off on a win this week, we think a top-5 finish at +400 is a pretty solid risk. It would also be the first top-5 of the new season for a man who’s been a top-5 machine for much of his career – so he’s got the “due” factor going as well.

Three other top-5 picks we like: Jordan Spieth (+330), Louis Oosthuizen (+600), Bubba Watson (+700)

Top-10 Finish
Webb Simpson: 2022 WM Phoenix Open Power Rankings

Webb Simpson (+250) – TPC Scottsdale seems to have more “horse for the course” type players than most courses, and Webb certainly fits that bill. In 11 starts in this event, he has a win and a runner-up (in a playoff) among five top 10s. We think Simpson adds a sixth top-10 finish this week.

Three other top-10 picks we like: Sam Burns (+230), Louis Oosthuizen (+250), Tony Finau (+250)
