From Augusta, Georgia, the PGA Tour travels about 140 miles southeast to Hilton Head (SC) for the 55th edition of the RBC Heritage at the iconic Harbour Town Golf Links.

The week after a major can often be an emotional letdown, but because of its “elevated” $20 million purse, the Heritage field this year is absolutely stacked, headlined by defending champion Jordan Spieth, alongside the two most recent Masters winners, Jon Rahm (2023) and Scottie Scheffler (2022), the world Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

The RBC Heritage has a rich history dating back to 1969 when Arnold Palmer took home the inaugural trophy. Other notable champions include Hall-of-Famers Jack Nicklaus, Johnny Miller, Greg Norman and Davis Love III, among others.

10. Max Homa

The talented southern California native finished T43 at last week’s Masters, extending his streak to 15 career major starts without a single top-10 finish… The Heritage, though, is not a major and we think Homa will return to his top-ranked form this week… On the season, the 32-year-old UC-Berkeley product has compiled two wins, along with four additional top-10 finishes… In his only career start at the Heritage, Homa finished T41 but produced four rounds in the 60s… The Twitter star sits 3rd on tour in strokes gained: total (2.166) and 9th in total putting (92.9).

9. Tony Finau

The 33-year-old Utah native has cooled off some but remains in solid form with ten consecutive finishes of T26 or better in 2023, highlighted by a win and two top-10s… The world No.14 currently ranks 4th on tour in both strokes gained: total (2.076) and birdies (4.68). He’s 5th in scoring (69.813)… In three career starts at the Heritage, a T33 (2020) is the best for Finau.

8. Justin Thomas

It’s officially a serious slump for the former world No.1 and two-time major champion: following a missed cut at the Masters, the longtime world top-10 fixture now sits No. 12 – his worst OWGR position since the summer of 2017… A T8 (2020) is the 15-time tour winner’s best result in four career starts at Harbour Town… Thomas ranks outside the top 100 on tour in fairways hit (122nd) and greens in regulation (140th).

7. Xander Schauffele

The world No. 6 enters off two straight top-10 finishes (T10 Masters, T5 WGC Match Play)… On the season, the southern California native has compiled five top-10 finishes including two top-5s… Schauffele’s best result in three career starts at Harbour Town was a T32 in 2018… Ranks in the top 10 on tour in strokes gained: total (3rd) and greens hit (7th).

6. Viktor Hovland

The ultra-talented 25-year-old enters off a frustrating final round at the Masters but a good showing (T7), overall – his second consecutive top-10 finish in a major… In ten stroke-play starts on the 2023 campaign, the consistently solid Hovland has posted an incredible nine top-25 finishes, highlighted by a pair of top-5s (T3-Players and T5-ZOZO). He also hasn’t missed a cut in his last 19 worldwide starts… In his only appearance at the Heritage, Hovland finished T21 (2020), bookending scores of 65 and 66… The Norwegian star ranks 6th on tour in scoring (69.87), 17th in strokes gained: total (1.224) and 18th in fairways hit (66.01%).

5. Jordan Spieth

The defending champion enters off a T4 at the Masters. It marked the fourth top-6 finish for Spieth in his six most recent stroke-play starts (T4, T3, T4, T6)… The three-time major winner earned his 13th career PGA Tour title with an overtime win (edging Patrick Cantlay) at the 2022 edition of the RBC Heritage… In five career starts at Harbour Town, the Texan has finished inside the top 12 four times, highlighted by two top 10s.

3. Patrick Cantlay

The UCLA product finished T14 at last week’s Masters: it was his fifth consecutive top-20 finish, highlighted by three top-10s… The 31-year-old star finished solo runner-up here last year, losing to Jordan Spieth in a playoff… In five career starts at the Heritage, Cantlay owns four top-10 finishes, highlighted by three top-3s… The California native is ranked 6th on tour in strokes gained: total (1.836), 4th in greens in regulation (72.22%), and 3rd in scoring average (68.93).

2. Scottie Scheffler

The 26-year-old Texan posted a very respectable top-10 finish in his title defense at the Masters… The world No.2 enters Harbour Town off six consecutive top-12 finishes, highlighted by two wins (Phoenix and Bay Hill)… Scheffler leads the tour in greens in regulation (74.03%) and sits second in strokes gained: total (2.238) and scoring (69.194)… He will be making his debut at the RBC Heritage.

1. Jon Rahm

On Sunday at the Masters, Rahm claimed his second career major and fourth victory of the 2023 campaign… The world No.1 arrives in Hilton Head as the co-favorite, alongside Scottie Scheffler, and it’s hard to see him not being in the mix come Sunday… In his only RBC Heritage appearance, the 28-year-old finished T33, posting scores of 71, 67, 66 and 68… The Spaniard leads the PGA Tour in scoring (68.792), money ($13.2m), and strokes gained: total (2.498).
