In a stunning move, Keegan Bradley was named captain of the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup. The PGA of America announced his selection Monday on Instagram after months of waiting for Tiger Woods to make a decision.
Bradley has played on only two Ryder Cup teams (2012, 2014) and was never named an assistant captain. Yet, despite not making a team for a decade, the New England native was chosen to lead the matches at Bethpage Black in New York.
According to the AP, Bradley was in New York undertaking media training when news leaked out. An introductory news conference is set for noon Tuesday at the NASDAQ building in NYC.
Bradley played his college golf at St. John’s in New York.
He was unceremoniously left off the U.S. team for the 2023 Ryder Cup matches in Rome, an emotional moment for Bradley which was captured by Netflix cameras for its pro golf series.
The 2011 PGA champion is well liked on tour and has called the Ryder Cup the ultimate golf event.
