Bryson DeCheambeau opened with a 3-under 69 at the 150th edition of the British Open Championship.

Afterwards, the media asked the 2020 U.S. Open winner if he was insulted by criticism from Tiger Woods, who said he “turned his back on the PGA Tour” to chase money.

DeChambeau said, “I respect everybody’s opinions. I have no position on it [Tiger’s criticism].

“Again, for me it was the best decision for me at that point in time. And still is.”

Woods, who signed a multi-million-dollar contract with Nike the day he turned pro, shot a 78 and sits T146 after day one.
