Byeong Hun An shot a 1-under 71 on Saturday at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea and will enter the final round of the Genesis Championship holding sharing the lead with Tom Kim, who went 3 under on his final three holes to reach 12 under.

An got off to a nice start with a birdie at the first but played even-par the rest of the way, mixing two more birdies with two bogeys, to settle on 12 under.

“I struggled a little bit today,” said An, who was the overnight leader. “The last two rounds have been almost perfect. I didn’t have many birdie chances out there and when I did, I would just miss it by a little bit.

“It was one of those days. It’s golf. It’s been great the last few days, it happens and hopefully better tomorrow.

“I don’t think it can get any better. I said at the start of the week that I would love to play with Tom in the final group on Sunday and hopefully one of us can come out on top.”

Kim, meanwhile, made the turn with just one birdie and remained a few shots back at the halfway point. But the 22-year-old fireplug picked up the pace with birdies on Nos. 10, 12 and 14 to move into the conversation. He dropped back after making double bogey on the par-5 15th but bounced back with a birdie on 16, followed by an eagle on 18 to join An on the marquee.

“It felt great. Just to finish off the way I finished after that bad break on 15 just makes dinner taste so much better,” Kim said.

“Obviously I’ve made a few mistakes this week, but those little things are coming together to back up those mistakes.

“What happened on 15, you can’t control it, you know, one bad swing. You are really unlucky, hit the cart path and it’s out of bounds. I had no idea.

“I told myself going up to that next tee that I’m making sure I’m birdieing a few holes coming in.”

Antoine Rozner (65) was one further back on 11 under. The Frenchman mixed eight birdies with one bogey to sit joint-third alongside Francesco Laporta (70) and Ricardo Gouveia (69).
