To begin the 2020-21 PGA Tour season, Cameron Champ has missed five cuts in just nine starts, but the 25-year old Texas resident won’t have to worry about missing his sixth as he’s officially withdrawn from the Genesis Invitational.
The PGA Tour announced the transaction late on Wednesday evening, and according to Golf Digest, the decision was related to the winter storms hitting the Texas region, where Champ resides.
Despite a world ranking of 72, and coming off three-straight missed cuts, Champ was being heavily promoted this week by the PGA Tour – even included in one of the featured pairings at Riviera, alongside superstars Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau.
Champ will tee it up next at the WGC-Workday Championship at the Concession in Bradenton, Florida.
