HOLE 4 – ‘HILLOCKS’

PAR 4 | 415 YARDS
The hole dog legs slightly to the right. The green is a double one – the only one on the golf course, and is well protected by front bunkers.
2007: RANK: 16 | SCORING AVG: 3.903

HOLE 5 – ‘BRAE’

PAR 4 | 412 YARDS
A dog leg right to a two-tiered green. Pin palcement will be key here, and any pins on top tier will require extra club. A narrow ditch stretches the entire width of the fairway at around 280 yards so long hitters need to be careful. Either go long or lay up.
2007: RANK: 5 | SCORING AVG: 4.332

HOLE 6 – ‘HOGAN’S ALLEY’

PAR 5 | 580 YARDS
Named after 1953 Open champion Ben Hogan, this hole is where Carnoustie shows its teeth. Bunkers and out of bounds await the miss-cued drive and although the best line is up Hogan’s Alley between the bunkers and the out of bounds fence, it requires a brave player to drive to that narrow piece of fairway.
2007: RANK: 17 | SCORING AVG: 4.830
