Danielle Kang shot a low-round 66 and will enter the weekend at the LPGA Mediheal Championship with a one-shot lead.

Kang finished her second day in Daly City, Calif. with one bogey against seven birdies, including five gains in an eight-hole span to secure the marquee position on 7-under par.

“Yeah, it was just warmer weather,” said Kang. “I play well in really hot weather. Evidently cold weather has not been my forte, but today weather was on my side.

“And even yesterday though even though it was cold in the morning, I had a really nice chat with Butch about how to play if the cold.

“Trying to just dink it around the golf course.”

Overnight leader Leona Maguire (73) and Lauren Kim (69) were one back on 6-under par.

Min Lee was alone in fourth on 5 under following a second-round 69. She was a shot ahead of a foursome tied at 4 under, including Matilda Castren (69), Jenny Coleman (69), Jane Park (71), and Alison Lee (72).
