The European Tour is raising money for the United Nations’ UNICEF with the goal of delivering some two billion COVID-19 vaccines globally.

On IG the Tour wrote: “In 2021, every birdie counts.

“This season, we will support Unicef’s global COVAX Appeal – aiming to deliver 2 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines around the world.”

Paul Casey, who is the Euro Tour’s spox for this promotion, says, “UNICEF do amazing work that is not often seen. In this case their goal is to 2 billion doses of the vaccines to health workers, social workers to teachers to the high risk people around the planet in very hard to reach places. This is the biggest health crisis we’ve ever seen.

“The European Tour is a global tour, and UNICEF works in 190 countries around the world so it’s very, very important for the European Tour to do their part. And UNICEF are the biggest player who are gonna make the biggest impact so it’s a perfect alignment.”

Casey adds (with emphasis), “So this year, more than ever: every birdie counts.”
