Ewen Ferguson carded a final-round 68 to claim a two-shot victory at the BMW International Open, while also clinching a spot in the Open Championship in two weeks.
The win was Ferguson’s third of his European tour career. His other two titles were claimed in 2022: the Qatar Masters and the ISPS Handa World Invitational.
This win, though, was extra special as it came with an invite to the Open in his native Scotland.
Ferguson clinched one of the final spots in the field at Royal Troon in western Scotland, not too far from his birthplace in Glasgow.
“The Open Championship is a tournament that everyone wants to play in. I feel like I can do well there,” said an emotional Ferguson.
The Scot will also be teeing it up in his country’s national open championship: the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick.
Ferguson entered Sunday’s finale deadlocked with Jordan Smith, who shot 70 to finish T2 alongside David Micheluzzi (68).
