With a Sunday round of 66 at East Lake Golf Club, Rory McIlroy claimed victory at the Tour Championship along with the season-long FedExCup title.
The 30-year old Northern Ireland native signed a card comprised of 11 pars, six birdies, and two bogeys to finish at net 18-under par, four clear of Xander Schauffele, who shot even-par 70 to claim solo-second on net 14-under.
McIlroy earned a whopping $15,000,000 in bonus money from the not-for-profit PGA Tour. For finishing with the low gross score (-13), he also secured the 60 OWGR first-place points, and will move to No. 2 (from No. 3) in the the world rankings, behind only Brooks Koepka, who still holds a firm grasp on the No. 1 spot.
Runner-up Schauffele, meanwhile, earned $5,000,000 in FedExCup bonus cash and 36 world-ranking points. He will jump back into the world top-10, from 11th to No. 9.
