Justin Rose shot a final-round 69 at Torrey Pines’ South Course to claim a two-stroke victory at the Farmers Insurance Open.
After mixing three bogeys (on Nos. 2, 3, and 5) with birdie (No. 4), Rose finished his final 13 holes bogey-free, adding five more birdies, including two gains on his final three holes to reach 21-under par, two clear of Adam Scott.
It was the 38-year old Englishman’s 10th career PGA Tour title, and second worldwide victory (Turkish Airlines Open) in his last five starts. With the win, Rose earned $1,278,000 and 500 FedExCup points. He also picked up 60 OWGR points to solidify his position as the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world.
Runner-up Scott, meanwhile, collected a check for $766,800, along with 300 FedExCup and 40 OWGR points. Scott is projected to move back into the world top-30.
