With a final-round 65, Patrick Cantlay claimed a one-stroke victory over Justin Thomas (69) and Jon Rahm (68) at the ZOZO Championship.
Cantlay finished his fourth round at Sherwood Country Club with two bogeys offset by nine birdies, highlighted by a hat trick of gains on Nos. 13, 14, and 15 to clinch the win.
The victory in California was Cantlay’s third career PGA Tour title.
Along with the funky looking trophy, the 28-year old California native earned $1,440,000 and 500 FedExCup points, and 70 OWGR points. He is expected to move to No. 9 in the Official World Golf Rankings when released this week.
For their runner-up finishes, Rahm and Thomas each took home $704,000, 266 FedExCup points, and 35 world ranking points.
