Traditional putters generate torque because the shaft typically enters near the heel, creating a lever arm that encourages the face to open and close during the stroke. Zero-torque designs position the shaft axis near or above the center of gravity so the head resists twisting and stays more square to the path with less manipulation from the golfer.
PXG’s One & Done ZT uses a patented onset hosel configuration. This shifts the shaft forward and inward so the axis sits close to the CG, producing a toe-up balance point. Combined with an integrated forward-press design (5° measured loft that plays like a standard 3° thanks to roughly 2° of built-in lean), it promotes a natural hand position at address while delivering consistent loft at impact.
“This putter is designed to work with the golfer, not against them,” said PXG Design Engineer Matt Andrews. “By positioning the shaft axis just above the center of gravity, we significantly reduce the torque forces that cause the face to rotate during the stroke. The result is a putter that stays remarkably square to path and helps golfers produce a more repeatable roll.”
