Daniel Hillier will enter the final round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic holding a one-stroke advantage over Tyrrell Hatton.
Hillier shot a 2-under 70 in the third round to reach 13-under par for the tournament. The New Zealander’s performance included birdies on the final two holes, showcasing his resilience despite a challenging day with the wind.
“It was a grind,” said Hillier. “I figured it was going to be that at the start of the day with all that wind.
“It was tough but I enjoyed it out there. Have a crack at it tomorrow.”

Hatton was 12-under after a 4-under 68 in the third round. His round was highlighted by an eagle on the second hole and overcoming three bogeys on the front nine with four gains on Nos. 10, 11, 16 and 18.
“Yeah, it was pretty tough out there to be honest,” said Hatton. “The wind was swirling around which made it hard to get the right club at times, especially around the middle of the round.
“It felt like it really picked up for a moment there and certainly made things challenging. But I’m happy with the finish. So good position going into tomorrow.”
Hillier is chasing a first Rolex Series title, while Hatton is bidding to join Jon Rahm with a record-tying fifth victory in these elite events.
Despite a 74 on Saturday, Scotland’s Ewen Ferguson remains in contention at 10 under.
