After the two 40-somethings halved the first three holes with pars, the always-exciting Garcia ended it with a walk-off hole-in-one on the par-3 4th hole.
As Garcia wiggled his iron, Notah Begay, the GOLF Channel commentator, said, “I think he’s going for it here. Trying to put an end to this with one good shot.”
And ss Garcia’s ball was in the air, Begay added, “This is high… This is on a great line.”
A stunned Garcia asked, “Did it go in, did it go in?” And then was congratulated by Lee Westwood.
The Spaniard then blew a kiss and was off to Saturday’s Round of 16.
