J.T. Poston carded a final-round 67 at TPC Summerlin to claim a one-shot victory over Doug Ghim at the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open.
Poston entered Sunday’s finale in Las Vegas holding a three-shot lead and was never really threatened until the final three holes when he lost two strokes to the field – first with a par on the par-5 16th and then a bogey on 17. He held his nerve, though, and made a four-foot putt for par to claim his third career PGA Tour title.
“Yeah, I told myself this is what you dream of. You got a putt to win on the PGA Tour. Just try and forget about the last two,” said Poston, when asked about the struggles on 16 and 17.
“Didn’t make very good strokes on either of them. I told myself I’ve made a million of these and just do one more.”

Ghim shot 65 on Sunday to finish solo second on 21 under.
“Yeah, I did everything I could obviously,” said Ghim after a career-best finish in his 141st PGA Tour start.
“Haven’t had the best history so far in final rounds and final groups, so it’s definitely going to be a little badge on my chest I guess in a sense that the next time I get in position I’ll have that in my memory bank of knowing I’ve done it before.
“At the end of the day you’re trying to beat the leader in the final round and I did that.
“Just came up one short. Yeah, proud of the effort.”
Matti Schmid and Rico Hoey each carded 66 to share third. It was Schmid’s second straight top-5 finish.
