MEXICO CITY — Jon Rahm delivered a commanding performance at Club de Golf Chapultepec, firing a bogey-free 7-under 64 in the final round to win the LIV Golf Mexico City individual title by six shots on Sunday.

The Spaniard finished at 21-under 263 for the week, marking his second individual victory of the 2026 LIV Golf season.

Rahm, captain of Legion XIII, entered the final round with a two-shot lead after rounds of 65-67-67. He turned that advantage into a procession, saving his best golf for last despite a roller-coaster week that included off-course questions about the league’s future and his own recent struggles.

Just one week after tying for 38th at the Masters, Rahm credited a breakthrough moment in Augusta for helping him regain momentum.

“I found something on Sunday at the Masters, and my game is now in a better spot,” Rahm said afterward. He noted the improbability of such a dominant win: “If you would have told me last week on Thursday afternoon that I’d be winning by a six-shot margin this week, I would not have believed you because of how bad I played.

“Adam (caddie) and I nearly got in a heated argument on Saturday on the putting green at Augusta when he was trying to explain something and I wasn’t fully understanding.

“Once it clicked what he was trying to say and what I needed to work on on that range session Saturday afternoon, it was so much better.

“Sunday at Augusta I played much better golf, and it’s only gotten a little bit easier since then. But it’s not always the easiest to have a swing thought while playing, but this one obviously seemed to work out.”

Fellow Spaniard David Puig of Fireballs GC finished second at 15-under after a final-round 66, while a third Spaniard (Josele Ballester) finished third at -14 — marking the first time three Spaniards finished 1, 2, 3 on the podium.

Legion XIII teammate Tyrrell Hatton was among those in contention earlier, but Rahm pulled clear on a day when no one could match his precision and scoring.

“Yeah, Jon obviously played amazing today. He got off to just a perfect start, and yeah, unfortunately for me it ended up being a difficult day,” said Hatton.

“I said yesterday, hopefully the bubbles go my way, and they certainly went a way, but away from the hole, so certainly not a great day.”

Rahm’s Legion XIII also swept the team title, adding to their strong start to the 2026 campaign. The victory builds on his earlier win in Hong Kong this season and continues his resurgence after going winless in 2025 on the circuit.

The event at the high-altitude Chapultepec course was overshadowed by broader uncertainty surrounding LIV Golf, including speculation about the league’s direction and future. Yet Rahm remained focused inside the ropes, unbothered by the external noise as he led or co-led much of the tournament.

With this result, Rahm strengthens his position as one of LIV Golf’s standout performers. The league now turns its attention to the next stop on its 2026 schedule in Virginia.
