After a vote by his fellow tour professionals, Jon Rahm was named the European Tour’s Player of the Year.

It’s second time in three seasons that the Spaniard has won what is the tour’s defacto MVP award.

The 27-year-old captured his maiden major at the 2021 U.S. Open and spent 27 weeks ranked No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Rahm, who also the award in 2019, was thrilled to win the newly named Seve Ballesteros Award.

“It is very unique to be recognized by your peers like this,” said Rahm in a statement. “It is a true honor to be able to win this award for a second time.”
