Keith Pelley has resigned as the CEO of the DP World Tour and will lead the Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, the European tour announced today.

Pelley was the president of Rogers Media in Canada before leaving for the European golf tour in 2015. Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment owns assets in four of the six major sports leagues in North America, including primary ownership of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors.

“This role with MLSE, and the chance to be involved with my hometown sports teams in Toronto, was the one opportunity that I simply could not resist,” said Pelley.

“It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do at some point in my career, and I’m very grateful to be given that chance.”
