Anthony Kim, a wildcard player on the LIV Golf tour, recently revealed that he has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg.

Kim shared this news via his Instagram Stories, explaining that he began feeling unwell two weeks before the LIV Golf event in Riyadh, which took place earlier that month. Despite not initially understanding the cause of his discomfort, Kim learned of the blood clot diagnosis on February 24, 2025. He posted a photo of himself wearing a hospital bracelet, indicating he had sought medical attention.

Kim, 39, has had a challenging yet inspiring journey in golf. After a 12-year hiatus from the sport — marked by struggles with addiction, mental health, and multiple injuries, including an Achilles tendon surgery in 2012—he returned to professional golf in March 2024 with LIV Golf. His comeback followed a significant personal turnaround, including two years of sobriety, which he celebrated just days before this health scare.

In his announcement, Kim reassured fans that doctors have been taking good care of him and that he expects to recover fully, stating, “I will be fine.”

His performance in the 2025 LIV Golf season so far has been modest, with a T-49 finish at Riyadh (even par) and a T-51 at LIV Golf Adelaide (10-over par). The blood clot’s discovery raises questions about his participation in upcoming events, such as LIV Golf Hong Kong scheduled for March 7-9, 2025, though he has not yet clarified his playing status.
