PGA Tour golf is back in the Blue Ridge Mountains this week for the first time since Ben Hogan won the last of three straight Asheville Land of the Sky Opens in 1942.
The inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville, co-titled by Biltmore Estate and Explore Asheville, opens the FedExCup Fall Thursday – Sunday at Jack Nicklaus’s The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Arden.
The 7,167-yard, par-72 layout sits in a valley between Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway: open, bunker-dotted former farmland on the front nine, then tighter woodland and stream crossings on the back. Mountain views are constant; so is the pressure. A $5 million purse and Tour cards for 2027 are on the line for a 132-player field.
U.S. Presidents Cup picks Jacob Bridgeman and Jackson Koivun headline the tune-up before Medinah (Justin Thomas withdrew). Bubble veterans Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover are here, along with International Team members Corey Conners, Nick Taylor, and others. Every shot counts in the Fall series.
