Michael Kim is enjoying a breakout season on the Tour (we even included him as one of the top 15 in our Power Rankings this week)… The UC Berkeley product, and former All American, who owns a single PGA Tour win (2018 John Deere), lost his tour playing privileges after a horrific three-season slump (2019-21), where he fell to No. 1794 in the world.

After a season on the Korn Ferry Tour, Kim gained his card back in 2022 and has slowly climbed all the way to No. 52 (his best career ranking) aided by a recent hot streak where he’s produced T2, T13, T13, T6 and solo 4th in five straight starts.

In the OFFICIAL World Golf Rankings, the 31-year-old Kim is now remarkably ranked seven spots better than LIV Golf League star, and two-time major winner, Jon Rahm, who is considered one of the two or three best golfers in the world (Scheffler, McIlroy, Rahm).

Kim, though, found it to be quite amusing.
