Rich Berberian, a 28 year-old assistant professional from Windham Country Club (Derry, NH), won the 49th PGA Professionals Championship at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY.
Berberian shot a final round 69 to finish 11-under for the tournament, overcoming what, at the time, looked like a crippling triple bogey on the par 5 12th hole.
Berberian managed to drain a 33 foot bomb on the final hole to the secure the title, and a trip to Baltusrol next month for the 2016 PGA Championship.
