Peter Uihlein opened with a 8-under 63 at TPC Summerlin and will take a one-shot lead into day two of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Uihlein, who holds his first lead on the PGA Tour, signed for a card with just one bogey against nine birdies, highlighted by five gains in a six-hole stretch on Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 en route to the day’s low round.
Seth Reeves, making his third career Tour start, was just one back after an opening 64, one ahead of Harold Varner III and Robert Streb, who posted matching 65s to sit T3.
In his tournament debut, Jordan Spieth opened with a 5-under 66. The three-time major winner finished with two bogeys against seven birdies, including two in his final three holes to headline a group of seven players at T5.
Bryson DeChambeau – who matched his career-low first round score, Si Woo Kim, Whee Kim, Sam Ryder, Sebastian Munoz, and Abraham Ancer were the others at 5 under.
