Cameron Champ won his third PGA Tour title at last week’s 3M Open. It was Champ’s first top-10 finish of 2021.

Ahead of the 3M Open, Champ had made 16 PGA Tour starts in 2021 and failed to post a single top-10, while missing nine cuts.

In 2019 and 2020 he posted just two top-10s each year – four in total.

If you’re keeping track, Champ – the tour’s most overrated golfer (by far) has posted just five top-10s in three years. Five!

Amazingly, on his career, he’s missed the cut more than he’s finished in the top 30.

Yes. Top-30!

His current 2021 year reads like this: T31, MC, MC, MC, T48, MC, MC, T34, T26, T55, MC, MC, WD, MC, MC, T11, 1.

Yet, the PGA Tour, as it often does, cherry picked some stats and tried to compare Champ with three of the best golfers on the planet: world No. 1 Jon Rahm, No. 3 Collin Morikawa, and No. 6 Bryson DeChambeau. All three (and Champ) have won a tournament in each of the last three seasons.

Golf fans on the gram were not buying it.

One commenter snarked, “3 major champions and cam champ.”

Andrew wrote, “Seems like Champ has 2 good tournaments a year and wins 1 of them.”

Zeem replied, “You just wanted to post that joke didnt you.”
