Sepp Straka outlasted a challenge from Shane Lowry and Justin Thomas to win the 2025 Truist Championship, a PGA Tour Signature Event, at the Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course on Sunday.

The Austrian golfer’s final-round 2-under 68 secured his second victory of the season and fourth career PGA Tour title, earning him $3.6 million from the $20 million purse and 700 FedExCup points.

Straka, who started the day tied with Lowry at 14-under, navigated the A.W. Tillinghast-designed course with steady play, seizing the lead with a par on the 16th hole after Lowry bogeyed.

Despite back-to-back bogeys on holes 10 and 11, Straka’s clutch two-putt par on the 18th sealed a two-shot victory at 16-under 264. Lowry’s three-putt bogey on the final hole dropped him into a tie for second with Thomas at 14-under, each earning $1.76 million.

“It’s the biggest win of my career,” Straka said, crediting a mid-tournament driver tweak for his improved performance off the tee. His win vaults him to No. 2 in the FedExCup standings behind Rory McIlroy and into the top 10 of the PGA Tour-adjacent world rankings, solidifying his status as a Ryder Cup lock.

The event, hosted for the first time at Philadelphia Cricket Club, drew sellout crowds despite challenging weather. Fans embraced the historic venue, which tested players with its undulating greens and 118 bunkers. Thomas, who carded a 3-under 67, praised the course and Philly’s passionate fans, saying, “I wish we played more tournaments up here.”

Straka’s victory marks the eighth PGA Tour win by a European player this season, adding momentum as he heads to the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow next week.
