Sergio Garcia explains why he will be representing Spain at the Rio Olympics despite rising concerns of the Zika virus.
I know there r some dangers but representing Spain, trying to make golf grow & becoming an Olympian r too important so I'll be at @Olympics
— Sergio Garcia (@TheSergioGarcia) July 6, 2016
Garcia isn’t scared of a few mosquitoes! He wants to win gold and represent his country. It’s not like golfers have had many opportunities to play in the Olympics. Golf hasn’t been part of the Olympic Games since 1904.
There have been many other professional golfers who have withdrawn from the Olympic Games including world No. 1 Jason Day, and others like Rory McIlroy, and Adam Scott.
Golf at the Rio Olympics begins August 11th.
