Social Recap: Rickie in Focus, Koepka’s Menu, and Whatnot

0

Here’s a round-up of five PGA Championship grams we came across today, including Ian Poulter’s Bethpage Black inspired custom shoes; Rickie Fowler comes into focus; an interesting practice technique from a desperate golfer; Matt Fitzpatrick shows how deep the rough is at Bethpage Black; and a look at the menu of Brooks Koepka’s PGA Championship Dinner.

Warning. These Fooyjoys…

The PGA Tour posted a collage of shoes from Rory McIlroy (top left), Ian Poulter (top right), Adam Scott (bottom right), and Rickie Fowler (bottom left), asking the question: “Which one?” We personally like Poulter’s swag signage the best.

All Eye-Phones on Rickie

Speaking of Rickie Fowler, here’s a neat photo of the best player without a major, being photographed as fans capture his sweet swing on their phones.

Desperate Measures…

Bronson Burgoon was roasted for a photo that showed him practicing at Bethpage Black using a tennis racket thingy. Burgoon is the 179th ranked golfer in the world, and enters Famingdale off eight missed-cuts in his last nine starts (his one non missed cut was a T59). One commenter worote, “You know who’s not doing this? Guys that win.” Our question: “How the hell is he even in the field?”

Prepping for U.S. Open?

Here’s a video clip of England’s Matt Fitzpatrick showing how deep the rough is this week at Bethpage Black. One U.K. commenter shouted to his countryman and said, “America has made u soft! We call that the first cut in U.K.!”

Koepka’s Menu

Finally, a look at what 2018 PGA Champion Brooks Koepka served for his championship dinner. The First Course looked best: Strawberry Vinaigrette drizzled over Pork Belly Lardons with Baby Spinach, Summer Strawberry, Slivered Almonds, and Feta Cheese. Yum! The entree was a choice between beef, duck or fish. Dessert was carrot cake.
