On Sunday at Augusta National Golf Club, Scottie Scheffler (-9) will enter the final round of The Masters Tournament with a solid three-stroke advantage over Cameron Smith (-6).
Scheffler and Smith have been the two hottest players in the world, with the Texan Scheffler winning three times in his last five starts, and the Aussie Smith winning twice in five times, including the high-profile PLAYERS Championship.
Following a Saturday round of 71, South Korea’s Sung-Jae Im was 4 under, and five off the pace.
In the history of the Masters, no player has won a green jacket by coming back from more than six shots in the final round, so those three names are one of your likely winners – with Scheffler the prohibitive favorite at -225.
Shane Lowry (-2) and Charl Schwartzel (-2) were seven off the pace, while Justin Thomas (-1) and Corey Conners (-1) were the only others in red numbers. In all, only seven players were under par through 54 holes, and just eight even par or better.
